Guwahati witnessed a celebration of leadership, creativity and community impact as Femina, one of India’s leading women’s lifestyle brands, hosted the Femina GameChangers Northeast 2026 at Vivanta on March 2. The event recognised women who have made significant contributions in fields ranging from entrepreneurship and healthcare to arts, education and social service across Northeast India.
The ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp and was attended by several distinguished guests including eminent singer Manisha Hazarika, social activist Shri Nabam Vivek, Assam Gaurav awardee Meenakshi Das, Drugs India founder Shri Dzen Phukan, educationist P.S. Reddy, social activist Amaresh Roy, Dr Saumen Bharatiya, Patron-in-Chief of Byatikram Group, and Pradeep Nath, GM–PP, SIDBI.
More than 30 awards were presented to achievers who have made meaningful contributions to their industries and communities. Among the prominent awardees were Dr Juliee Hazarika, Dr Rosie Kalita, Aditi Kejriwal, Apong Gyadi Taniang, Prof Dr Sangeeta Tripathi, Priyanka Das, Danisha Chakraborty, Nabam Sisi Welly, Dr Anindita Priyadarshini Das and Dr Jyotismita Pathak.
The awards were presented by Padmashree Nuruddin Ahmed, actor Madhurima Chaudhury, Indrani Laskar, ACS and Additional Secretary to the Assam Government’s Health & Family Welfare Department, and eminent writer Manikuntala Bhattacharya.
Femina Editor-in-Chief Ambika Muttoo said the platform aims to bring greater visibility to inspiring stories from the Northeast and celebrate individuals whose work strengthens communities and inspires future generations.
With winners spanning sectors such as law, tourism, fashion, healthcare, literature and social activism, the event highlighted the region’s growing influence driven by purpose, resilience and innovation.
