On Friday evening, Mizoram Governor General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh and First Lady Bharti Singh hosted the Aizawl West-I Area Masihi Sangati of the Mizoram Presbyterian Church at Lok Bhavan for a Christmas Carol Service. General Singh regarded Christmas as a universally cherished festival that promotes compassion, empathy, and selflessness, aligning with the Mizo principle of Tlawmngaihna. He emphasized the importance of the occasion for opening hearts, extending blessings to others, and fostering happiness, while expressing hopes for peace and unity during the Christmas season. Rev. Lalhunthara delivered a message during the service, which featured a selection of Christmas carols performed by the congregation alongside the Standing Choir, enhancing the festive atmosphere. The congregation presented Christmas gifts to the Governor and the First Lady, who reciprocated with gifts to express their gratitude for the attendees’ participation.
