Flipkart Foundation and SankalpTaru Foundation have launched an inspiring project to restore the mangrove ecosystem in the Sundarbans, touching the lives of over 5,000 marginalized individuals. This community-driven initiative aims to plant 35,000 mangrove saplings across 6 acres over the next 36 months.
The ‘Community-Based Mangrove Plantation and Restoration’ project is more than just an environmental effort; it’s a lifeline for the communities in North 24 Parganas and South 24 Parganas districts. Along the banks of the Raimangal and Chota Kolagachia rivers, this initiative will bolster coastal protection, improve water quality, and enrich biodiversity, while also providing sustainable livelihoods for small farmers and fishermen.
