Flipkart creates more job opportunities

Launched in 2019, Flipkart Samarth is making a positive difference to over a million livelihoods. It focuses on women and rural entrepreneurs, artisans and weavers including the differently-abled who often face challenges in accessing working capital, infrastructure and digital training. It aims to ease their entry into e-commerce and empower them to leverage technology for driving change and bringing their local products and handicrafts online. Flipkart has also provided the Samarth partners with consumer feedback on scaling and improving product quality to help them enhance their earnings through the platform.


Sellers from different places can benefit from Flipkart Samarth. 25 year old businessman Vivek Raghavbhai Malviya moved to Rajkot from Mumbai after completing BCom. Recommended by a friend, he decided to sell kitchenware items such as water bottles, oil dispensers and other plastic and glass objects in various designs and colors online at Flipkart. With the assistance and guidance provided by the account managers at Flipkart, he was able to learn ways to grow his business and manage his finances. He has witnessed a 5x year-on-year growth.


Pritam Chandra Dey is a businessman from the Phulia region in West Bengal. While studying BCom at Calcutta University, he learned about e-commerce and started selling books. Fascinated by the artistic and cultural heritage of weaving in India, he started selling handloom sarees on the Flipkart. Pritam has witnessed 10X growth in his sales till now. Most of his sales come from West Bengal, Assam and Tripura. He aims to receive 100+ orders and receive greater sales as he does during the Durga Puja festival.
