Following Remal cyclone hit, Assam CM warns people to be safe

Few days back, An Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) had issued a warning notice from the India Meteorological Department, about heavy rainfall within the parts of northeast states.

Following the notification, Assam’s Guwahati city is grappling with incessant rain and gusty winds following the landfall of severe cyclonic storm ‘Remal’ since last night.

In various parts the weather condition has led to significant disruption due to it’s strong wind. Trees have been uprooted, the city has been without electricity.

Further, Assam CM expressing concern for its people through social media stated that, “Heavy storms are lashing parts of the State and is expected to continue. I’ve instructed officials to be alert to respond to exigencies at the earliest.”
