In the presence of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma, Department of Medical Education and Research, Government of Assam entered into an agreement with Regional Center (Ex-Saini Contributory Health Services) Guwahati to provide cash and capless medical services to ECHS beneficiaries. The agreement was signed to honor the contribution of the soldiers and their supreme sacrifice for the sovereignty and integrity of the country.
Sarma said the agreement would go a long way in enhancing medical coverage of ex-servicemen and their family members in state government medical colleges and cancer care hospitals.
Also, the State Government has paid an ex-gratia of Rs 50 lakhs of those who sacrificed their lives to protect the sovereignty of the country.
