According to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) looking into the case of former Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) Deputy Commissioner Talo Potom, Potom is currently evading capture, and efforts to find him have stepped up. Shivendu Bhushan, the SIT Superintendent of Police, made this statement. He acknowledged that search activities are underway and that all angles are being investigated, but he stated that it would be premature to comment in detail on the investigation’s progress.On January 23, Potom’s bail was revoked by the Itanagar Permanent Bench of the Gauhati High Court. Potom had previously been remanded to 14 days of judicial detention on October 27 and was granted bail on November 4 of last year. He was transferred from the ICR and was working as a Special Secretary (PWD) in New Delhi prior to his detention. Potom was taken into custody in relation to the October 23, 2025, suicide of 19-year-old Gomchu Yekar in Lekhi village. Yekar named engineer Likwang Lowang (now dead) and Potom in his suicide letter.Potom has been charged with aiding and abetting suicide in accordance with Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Sections 108, 271, and 272/3(5). The inquiry is still under progress.
