Fourth major earthquake of 5.6 magnitude hits Turkey as death toll from previous ones cross 4,000

The central region of Turkey was hit by a 5.6 magnitude earthquake on Tuesday, hours after three catastrophic earthquakes struck Turkey and Syria on Monday, resulting into death of more than 4,000 human beings. The process of rescuing victims are going on.

Many countries, including India, are sending in supplies and relief teams.NDRF Search and Rescue Teams, specially trained dog squads, medical supplies, drilling machines and other equipment from India left for Turkey early today morning. This stand came in the backdrop of PM Narendra Modi visits to the quake-hit country.

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has declared seven days of national mourning during which the Turkish flags will fly at half-staff across the nation and at its diplomatic missions overseas.
