From Debut to Distinction: 2 Mizo Battalion NCC Cadets Impress at PM’s Rally, Felicitation on March 3

Eight cadets from the newly established 2 Mizo Battalion NCC in Lunglei, Mizoram, delivered a notable bamboo dance performance at the Prime Minister’s Rally in New Delhi during the Special National Integration Camp (SNIC) for the Republic Day Parade in January 2026. This event marked the inaugural representation of South Mizoram’s NCC cadets at the rally, signifying a significant milestone for both the district and the state. Despite receiving this opportunity on very short notice, the cadets demonstrated exceptional professionalism, confidence, and coordination, earning wide acclaim for their well-executed and spirited performance. The Governor of Mizoram plans to honor the eight cadets on March 3, 2026, in Aizawl, recognizing their dedication and contribution to the state. Col Sagar K Mohanty, Commanding Officer of the battalion, commended the team for their collective effort, discipline, and cultural pride, specifically highlighting the outstanding performances of individual cadets. This achievement exemplifies the potential of Mizoram’s youth and the strengthening of newly established NCC units, with aspirations of encouraging more youth in the state to participate in NCC and contribute to national integration.
