From Pole to Podium: Nissan Formula E Team Dominates Diriyah E-Prix

Nissan Formula E Team made their debut in Season 10 of the ABBFIA Formula EWorld Championship, securing 26 points in Round 3 in Diriyah. The squad bounced back after a disappointing Friday, with Oliver Rowland finishing 13th and Sacha Fenestraz retiring with damage, showcasing their style in the second double-header event.

Franco-Argentine Fenestraz took top spot in Qualifying Group A, with Rowland joining him in the Duels after setting the fastest time in Group B. British racer Rowland won all three Duels, setting the quickest time at each stage, claiming three points for the Julius Baer Pole Position, despite Fenestraz’s elimination in the quarter-finals. Rowland struggled in the 36-lap Diriyah race, losing a spot off the line and being shuffled down to third in the Attack Mode phase.

Despite this, he kept pace with the leaders and pressured for second place in the latter stages, eventually settling for third. Fenestraz had a strong run, battling hard and joining the lead pack for the final laps, earning his first points of the season in sixth. FormulaE now enter a seven week break, returning for the SãoPauloE-Prix on 16 March. Tommaso Volpe, managing director and team principal, Nissan Formula E Team, said, “We’ve got a break coming now before the next round, so we’ll keep working and look to replicate this performance in São Paulo.”
