The cab aggregator plans to begin taxi services on Thursday in order to improve transportation at the Kolkata Airport. Along with airport officials, state transport minister Snehashish Chakraborty and transport secretary Saumitra Mohan have scheduled the inauguration ceremony for November 14. This action will address the passengers’ lack of adequate transportation options. The passengers had repeatedly and vehemently brought up the matter. They claim that finding a taxi to their destination is difficult, particularly at night.
There are currently a number of taxi services at the Kolkata Airport. At the airport, cab services are offered to passengers by Uber, Ola, Snap E, and Yatri Sathi, each of which has its own bay and kiosk. According to the Times of India, there is a cooperative counter called Helpline that provides you with services from other taxi aggregators, such as InDrive, that do not have their own locations. According to an airport official, commuters frequently lament the lack of transportation, which leaves them stranded for hours before they can get to their destination.
“We have reached an agreement with Rapido, and they will begin operations on Thursday,” he stated. Passengers frequently complain about the lack of transportation options from the airport, particularly at night. There will be some relief for the passengers with the addition of a new aggregator,” the media report continued. The availability of transportation options has been criticized by officials in “airport service quality surveys.” Travelers complained that it was hard to find taxis, even close to the airport grounds. In addition, there are parking problems, which the authorities attempted to address by expanding the number of taxi services operating on the property.
