With the inauguration of Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir few days away, gifts from across the world have started reaching the holy city. Along with this, other countries are also adopting measures so that their Hindu diaspora can celebrate this inauguration, making the 22nd of January event not just an Indian celebration but rather a global one.
Over 3,000 gifts, including silver shoes, ornaments, and clothing, destined for Lord Ram from Sita’s birthplace in Nepal, have been successfully delivered to Ayodhya. The gifts were transported in a convoy of 30 vehicles from the Janakpur Dham Ramjanaki Temple to Ayodhya. Additionally, a delegation from Sri Lanka presented a unique rock from the Ashok Vatika, a legendary garden where Sita was held captive by Ravan.
Thailand will send special soil from Ayutthaya for the consecration ceremony at Ayodhya, highlighting the strong cultural ties between India and Thailand, as noted by Swami Vigyanananand, founder and global chairman of the World Hindu Foundation. The Jalabhishek of Ramlala at the temple in India is a global event, with holy water being sent from 156 countries, including South Korea, China, Kazakhastan, Iran, Suriname, Canada, and Russia, demonstrating that India’s celebration of Lord Ram transcends borders and brings people together.
