Godrej Agrovet’s winter strategy aims to boost fish farming productivity amid seasonal challenges

In a bid to support fish farmers during the challenging winter months, Godrej Agrovet Limited has introduced a comprehensive strategy to address the seasonal downturn in aquaculture productivity. As temperatures drop, fish experience slower digestion and reduced nutrient absorption, leading to lower growth rates and increased stress on farmers’ operations.

Godrej Agrovet’s strategy is built around a combination of scientific feeding practices, digital tools, and community-driven support. Dhrubajyoti Bannerjee, CEO of the Aquafeed Business at Godrej Agrovet, emphasized the potential of the initiative, saying, “By leveraging digital platforms and community-driven initiatives, we’re creating a comprehensive ecosystem that empowers farmers to navigate the most challenging seasonal constraints.”

The company’s Matsya Margadarshan campaign offers farmers expert advice through Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook, while the Aqua Mitra series fosters knowledge-sharing. The Godrej Aqua Insiders initiative focuses on sustainability, green practices, and empowering women in aquaculture. In Nadia, a key market for fish farming, the strategy is expected to drive increased adoption of sustainable practices. Local farmers are optimistic that digital tools and expert insights will help improve productivity during winter, addressing both environmental and economic challenges.
