If you’re someone who takes a lot of photos, your photo gallery can often be cluttered with similar images like sunsets or group photos. Google is introducing a feature called ‘Photo Stacks’ which aims to solve this problem.
The new AI-powered feature automatically detects and groups similar photos and organizes them into piles. It also selects the top picks that it thinks are the best moments. If you don’t like the top picks in the photo stack, Google Photos will allow you to modify the automatically generated stacks and even turn off the feature.
With the latest update, Google says the Photos app will use AI to identify and categorize screenshots and documents in your gallery into separate albums like receipts, event info, and ID.
The tech giant says it will make it easier for users to find the photos they want. Additionally, Google Photos will extract information from photos of things like concert tickets and add reminders to the calendar. Users will be able to choose whether to automatically save screenshots and documents after 30 days.
