The Government of Meghalaya and Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies have launched a campaign to increase voluntary blood donation in Ri-Bhoi District, an Aspirational District in the State. The Health Minister has unveiled a dedicated number to register citizens as voluntary blood donors, +91 99539 7533. The campaign was inaugurated by the Health Minister.
The campaign aims to foster a cultural shift in Ri-Bhoi District by encouraging voluntary blood donation as a noble act that can save lives. Through technology and awareness strategies, the Government of Meghalaya and Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies aim to dispel misconceptions, mobilize participation, and empower the local community to save lives through blood donation. Mr. Chetan Makam, General Manager and Senior Vice President, Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies, expressed his enthusiasm for the campaign.
He stated, “We are confident that with the ongoing support of the Government of Meghalaya, we will successfully achieve our collective vision and build a donation campaign model for other states to leverage.”Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies, a global leader in blood management, has partnered with local social media influencers to create awareness videos to inspire youth to participate in blood donation drives.
