Governor Nallu Marks Tripura’s growth on India’s 76th Republic Day

On the occasion of India’s 76th Republic Day, Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu lauded the state’s remarkable progress across multiple sectors, emphasizing advancements in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and the overall welfare of its people. Speaking at the Republic Day ceremony held at Assam Rifles Ground in Agartala, Governor Nallu highlighted the state’s strides in improving the lives of its citizens, with significant support from the central government. “The state has made impressive progress, particularly in infrastructure, health, education, and the welfare of all sections of the population,” said Nallu, commending the various developmental initiatives underway.

A key moment in the state’s progress was the historic agreement signed in March 2024 between the Centre, the Tripura government, and the Tipra Motha Party. This agreement aims to address the long-standing issues of the indigenous people, ensuring their development and inclusion in the state’s progress. Governor Nallu also celebrated the peace agreements with insurgent groups such as the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and the All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF), calling these agreements landmark achievements. “These peace accords will usher in a new era of stability and progress for Tripura,” he said.

In his address, the Governor also highlighted significant infrastructure initiatives, such as the Rs 2,800 crore funding from the Centre to build essential roads and enhance connectivity. He noted that 65 projects under the Smart City Mission, amounting to Rs 58.01 crore, are currently underway, further contributing to the state’s urban development. Another key development is the partnership with Tata Technology to modernize 19 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the state. The Rs 683.27 crore project, aimed at improving vocational training, will see Tata Technology funding 86% of the total cost, with the remaining 14% provided by the state government.
