GUWAHATI FRONTIER BSF APPREHENDED THREE INDIAN CATTLE SMUGGLER AND RESCUED 55 NOS CATTLE HEADS

In different operations, troops of Border Security Force under Guwahati Frontier apprehended three Indian cattle smugglers and rescued 55 cattle heads from the bordering areas of District Coochbehar (West Bengal) , Dhubri & South Salmara (Assam) On intervening night of 20/21 Sept’ 2020.
Acting on tip off, on 20 Sept’ 2020, troops of BSF BOP Jaljali of 62 Bn BSF under Guwahati Frontier carried out a special operation in general area of village Daspara, PS- Tufanganj, Distt- Coochbehar (West Bengal) and apprehended two Indian cattle
smugglers along with cattle heads, while these were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh. Apprehended cattle smugglers identified as (a) Kartik Chandra Das (60 Yrs), S/o Jatin Chandra Das, (b) Nanda Hari Adhikari (45 Yrs), S/o Fanindra Nath Adhikari, both are resident of Jaljali, PO – Deocharai, PS-Tufangunj, Distt -Coochbehar (West Bengal).
In second operation, acting on tip off, on 21 Sept’ 2020, troops of BSF BOP Madhya Balabhut of 62 Bn BSF under Guwahati Frontier carried out a special operation in general area of village Balabhut, PS- Tufanganj, Distt- Coochbehar (West Bengal) and
apprehended one Indian cattle smuggler along with cattle heads, while these were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh. Apprehended cattle smuggler identified as Nasruddin Saikh (30 Yrs), S/o Kedar Saikh, R/o vill-Durhati, Distt- Dhubri (Assam).
Apprehended cattle smugglers along with cattle heads have been handed over to Police Station Tufanganj, Distt- Coochbehar (West Bengal) for further legal action.
Besides above, vigilant Seema Praharis of BSF have also rescued 55 Nos cattle heads in various other operations from bordering areas of Distt Coochbehar (WB), Dhubri & South Salmara (Assam) while the same were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh.
