Hapania International Fairground will host the 43rd Agartala Book Fair starting on January 2, 2025

The 43rd Agartala Book Fair steering committee unanimously resolved to hold the event at Hapania International Fairground from January 2 to January 14, 2025, at a meeting held Tuesday at the Muktadhara auditorium. At the first preparation meeting of the fair committee, which was presided over by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and took place on October 28 in the evening at the Muktadhara auditorium in Agartala, the timetable for the 43rd Agartala book fair was determined. Additionally, the steering committee’s second meeting, which was chaired by Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Mayor Dipak Majumder, resolved unanimously to hold the 43rd Agartala book fair at Hapania International Fairground, taking into account all available ground amenities.

ICA Director Bimbisar Bhattacharjee gave a PowerPoint presentation outlining the fair’s specifics and the measures being taken to ensure its success. According to him, the subcommittees will talk about all the challenges encountered and the actions that need to be taken to make the book fair more appealing. Manika Das Dutta, the deputy mayor of AMC, Biswajit Shil, the vice president of the West Tripura Zilla Parishad, editor Nabendhu Bhattacharjee, Subrata Chakraborty, the vice chairman of the state cultural committee, Dr. Arunodhoy Saha, the former vice chancellor of Tripura University, members of the All Tripura Book Sellers and Publishers Association, Rakhal Majumder, and poet Nakul Roy were also in attendance.
