Haripada Kumar Memorial Ranking Badminton Tournament Continues in Nagaon

Under the aegis of the Assam Badminton Association, the Haripada Kumar Memorial Yonex-Sunrise 3rd All Assam Ranking Badminton Tournament is underway in full swing at the Indoor Stadium of the Nagaon Sports Association, courtesy of the association.
In this five-day tournament, featuring over 600 male and female players from a total of 20 districts, Harshita Borah of Nagaon, Ananya Chaliha of Tinsukia, Adrika Borah of Jorhat, and Adrisha Gogoi of Sivasagar have secured their spots in the semifinals in the Girls’ Under-9 singles category so far.
On the other hand, in the Boys’ category, Divyanshu Mahanta of Naharkatia, Devanga Saikia of Digboi, Pranjujyoti Gogoi of Tinsukia, and Nibid Chetia have advanced to the semifinals.
Meanwhile, the pre-quarterfinal stage matches for the Under-11, 13, 15, 17, and 19 years singles categories are currently ongoing.
Anil Das, the Secretary of the Badminton Section of the Nagaon Sports Association, informed that the tournament was formally inaugurated on Wednesday by the President of the Nagaon Sports Association and local MLA, Rupak Sharma, who was present as the chief guest. Vineet Gogoi is serving as the Chief Referee, Abhijit Borah as the Deputy Chief Referee, and Jayanta Thakuria as the Match Controller.
