‘Have bomb in my bag’: Akasa Air flight forced to land after threat claim by passenger

Akasa Air flight which was on it’s way from Pune to Delhi on October 21(Saturday) changed its route to Mumbai after a passenger asserted to have a bomb in his luggage. The passenger made a warning to a crew staff about 40 mins after the flight took off.

After knowing the news about bomb, captain immediately decided to land the flight at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport as a precautionary measure. After landing, a thorough investigation of bomb was done by a Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and the scare was exposed as fake.

After getting approval from police the flight departed from Mumbai to Delhi at 6 a.m. The investigation will be further carried on by Mumbai Police.
