According to the company's chief executive, Serum Institute Of India has applied to the country's drug regulator and the health ministry for full approval of its Covid-19 vaccine Covishield. More than 1.25 billion doses of AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine, branded as Covishield, have been given in India by Serum Institute. India reports massive daily spike rate of new cases

 On Tuesday Sun Pharma said, its subsidiary has received authorization for emergency use from the Drugs Controller General of India to manufacture and market a generic version of MSD and Ridgeback's antiviral drug molnupiravir under the brand name Molxvir in India.
