ICMR notified Corona Virus will stay forever

The Corona virus will not get easily,after a while, just like influenza, and vulnerable populations may have to take the vaccine shot annually. On friday , Head, Division of Epidemiology and Communicable Diseases, ICMR, Covid-19, is expected to gradually become an endemic. According to Head Division of Epidemiology Centre Samiran Panda said 100 years ago the influenza changed as pandemic. There should minor changes in the vaccine formulations simultaneously. Experiments at the ICMR have proved that the vaccines presently available in India are effective against the new Covid variants as well. However, the efficacy may differ for different strains.

India logs 43,393 new COVID-19 cases, recovery rate at 97.19%.

India has recorded 43,393 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, as per the Union Health Ministry. India’s active caseload stands at 4,58,727. The active cases constitute 1.49% of total cases. The recovery rate has risen to 97.19%. 2,98,88,284 people have recovered across the country so far. 36.89 crore vaccine doses were administered so far under a nationwide vaccination drive. The weekly positivity rate remains below 5%, currently at 2.36%. The daily positivity rate is at 2.42%, less than 3% for 18 consecutive days. The testing capacity has been substantially ramped up –42.70 crore total tests have been conducted.

Bengal Govt fixes medical test rates for private labs and hospitals

On Friday , Similar to the capping of coronavirus test prices the West Bengal Clinical Establishment Regulatory Commission (WBCERC) fixed the charges on five radiological tests and 15 pathological tests which are conducted by private hospitals. The health department has issued an order that all private hospitals with more than 150 beds would follow the order.
