The Indian Council of Medical Research on Sunday said that a study has suggested that mixing and matching of Covid-19 vaccines - Covaxin and Covishield - show better result. As per the ICMR, the study has also suggested that immunisation, with a combination of an adenovirus vector platform-based vaccine, followed by inactivated whole virus vaccine was not only safe, but also elicited better immunogenicity. India sees single-day rise of 38,628 Covid-19 cases, 617 deaths

India recorded a single-day rise of 38,628 new coronavirus cases, taking the infection tally to 3,18,95,385, while the death toll climbed to 4,27,371 with 617 fresh fatalities, the Union health ministry said on Saturday. The active cases in the country have declined to 4,12,153 and comprise 1.29 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.37 per cent, the ministry data updated at 8 am showed.A decrease of 2,006 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours, it said. Over 74 million people received COVID vaccine in Turkey

More than 74.6 million citizens in Turkey have got at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine rising daily infections, the Health Ministry said. In the country of 83 million people, more than 41 million have received the first dose of the vaccine, while 28 million have been administered the second dose.The number of citizens who have received the third jab has surpassed 5 million.                  The ministry noted that 44.84 per cent of the eligible people aged over 18 have received two doses.
