Ujjivan Small Finance Bank’s Hello Ujjivan mobile app has facilitated over ₹690 crore in financial transactions, marking a significant milestone in digital banking for first-time users. Specifically designed for microbanking customers, 98% of whom are women, the app has enabled ₹277 crore in loan repayments, ₹358 crore in deposits, ₹34 crore in individual loan disbursements, and facilitated over 36,000 Hospicare insurance purchases worth ₹2.4 crore. More than five lakh loan acknowledgements have been completed digitally, reducing the need for in-branch visits.
Launched as “India’s first voice-visual-vernacular mobile banking app,” Hello Ujjivan operates in 11 Indian languages, including Assamese, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, and Kannada, allowing users to access loans, deposits, insurance, and financial literacy features independently. The Digital Diksha tool further helps users track financial goals and improve long-term money management.
In Agartala, the app is witnessing growing traction among local microfinance borrowers, helping small traders and households conduct loan repayments and deposits digitally. This shift is gradually reducing dependency on cash transactions in the city’s markets and boosting overall financial inclusion. Vibhas Chandra, Head of Micro Banking, said, “Hello Ujjivan empowers customers to manage finances confidently, bridging the digital divide and enhancing economic participation.” The bank plans to introduce new features by FY26 to further strengthen digital adoption and customer engagement.
