The groundbreaking Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedure, completed in just 45 minutes, restored mobility for 75-year-old Vanlalzaunga from Mizoram, who had been wheelchair-bound for four months.
Under the expert care of Dr. Srinivas Prasad BV, Senior Consultant in Interventional Cardiology, the advanced TAVR procedure used the latest Edwards Sapien 3 Ultra valve. This cutting-edge technology provides improved valve sealing and minimizes procedural risks, enabling quicker recovery times. Remarkably, Mr. Vanlalzaunga was able to walk unassisted just four hours post-surgery.Diagnosed with aortic valve stenosis in 2011, Mr. Vanlalzaunga’s condition had deteriorated over the years despite various treatments.
