The Honda India Foundation (HIF) has launched the next phase of its flagship CSR initiative, Project Buniyaad – Aathmanirbharta Ka Aadhaar, in Mizoram. The event, held at the Mizoram Youth Commission (MYC) office in Aizawl, was graced by Mr. Lalnghinglova Hmar, Minister of State for Labour, Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Sports & Youth Services, Excise & Narcotics, and Tourism, Government of Mizoram.
This phase focuses on expanding skill development opportunities for youth, particularly in the hospitality sector, with assured job placements. To enhance the digital learning experience, HIF inaugurated three interactive smart boards at MYC classrooms, aiming to provide a modern and engaging environment for career training and guidance. Initially introduced in Mizoram in 2024 in partnership with MYC and Visan Foundation, the project has already demonstrated success in other regions like Jammu & Kashmir and parts of the North-East.
In Aizawl, Project Buniyaad is expected to support a skilled workforce pipeline for the city’s growing hospitality and tourism sectors. This could lead to better employment rates and improved service standards in the region’s vibrant economy.
