Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) conducted a large-scale road safety awareness programme in Midnapore, West Bengal. The initiative engaged over 2,000 students and staff from RNLK Women’s College and the Government Industrial Training Institute through interactive sessions designed to instil road discipline and safe riding habits from a young age.
The campaign featured theory lessons on road signs, riding posture, and helmet usage, along with practical training using Honda’s virtual riding simulator and Kiken Yosoku Training (KYT) to build real-world awareness. Participants also honed their skills with slow riding and narrow plank activities. This effort is part of HMSI’s national commitment to reduce road fatalities and develop a generation of safety-conscious riders.
In Medinipur, where two-wheelers form a major mode of transport, the initiative resonated deeply with families and young riders. Local educators praised the campaign for offering a much-needed educational boost in traffic-prone areas, and dealers observed increased interest in safe riding gear and accessories.
