Hooghly students excel in SOF International Olympiads 2025–26

Students from Hooghly have delivered an impressive performance in the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) International Olympiads 2025–26, bringing recognition to the district through their achievements in global-level academic competitions. The SOF Olympiads this year saw participation from millions of students across 72 countries, including more than 29,000 students from Hooghly. Among the top achievers, Arshabha Samanta of Class 2 from Bikash Bharati Blooms Day School secured Rank 1 in the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO), while Sourashis Roy of Class 4 from Sarada Vidyapith achieved Rank 1 in the International Computer Science Olympiad (ICSO). Both students will receive Gold Medals and Certificates of Outstanding Performance.

Diyan Das of Class 2 from Birla Open Minds International School secured Rank 3 in the International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO) and will be awarded a Bronze Medal along with a Certificate of Outstanding Performance. SOF Founder and Director Mahabir Singh congratulated the students, parents and schools, stating that the Olympiads continue to encourage critical thinking and academic excellence among young learners.

The achievements have highlighted Hooghly’s growing academic environment, with schools actively encouraging students to participate in international competitions and strengthen their analytical and problem-solving skills beyond classroom learning.
