Three students from Hooghly have secured top ranks in the SOF Olympiad exam for 2023-24. Soura Shis Roy, a second-grade student from Sarada Vidyapith, achieved the first rank in the International Mathematics Olympiad, earning an international gold medal and a merit certificate. Adrik Ghosh, a second-grade student from Bansberia Happy Valley School, also claimed the first rank in the International General Knowledge Olympiad, receiving an international gold medal and a merit certificate. Aarvi Pal, a first-grade student from Bansberia Happy Valley School, also claimed the second rank in the International English Olympiad, earning an international silver medal and a merit certificate.
The SOF Olympiad attracted millions of students from 70 countries, including over 28,594 Hooghly students, including Don Bosco School and Vision International School were among the participants. The Science Olympiad Foundation held an awards ceremony in New Delhi to recognize the top three worldwide rank holders from grade 1 to 12 who participated in seven Olympiad exams for the 2023-24 academic year.
Distinguished guests like former Chief Justice of India, Justice Dipak Misra, and renowned author and screenwriter Chetan Bhagat graced the occasion. Former chief Justice of India, Justice Dipak Misra addressed the gathering of over 700 attendees, he said, “When you talk about competition, success follows it because everyone competes to succeed. Success is the real achievement”.
