Hurriyat calls for shutdown in Kashmir

The Hurriyat Conference, led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has called for a bandh in Kashmir on Wednesday, May 21, to pay tribute to Maulvi Mohammad Farooq and Abdul Gani Lone on the death anniversaries.

The separatist Amalgam asked people to visit the Eidgah, where the two leaders are laid to rest, and pray for them.

The Hurriyat Conference has condemned the continued detention of its leaders since August 2019 and condemned the recommendations of the Limitation Commission.

It criticized the government for sacking civil servants accused of terrorist links.
