Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) has announced the signing of Hyatt Place Ahmedabad Nikol, reinforcing its expansion strategy across high-growth urban centres in India. The 140-key hotel, to be developed by Golden Buildcon, marks a significant addition to Hyatt’s Essentials portfolio and strengthens its presence in Ahmedabad, Gujarat’s administrative and commercial hub.
The upcoming property will offer a mix of business and leisure amenities, including a main restaurant, grab-and-go market, and a 3,455-square-foot ballroom, alongside multiple conference rooms and a boardroom. Guests will also have access to a fitness centre and swimming pool, positioning the hotel as a preferred choice for multitasking travellers. Hyatt Place hotels are designed to deliver modern guestrooms, flexible spaces, and 24/7 conveniences.
“Ahmedabad continues to demonstrate strong economic growth, driven by infrastructure, manufacturing, financial services, and entrepreneurship,” said Dhruva Rathore, Vice President, Real Estate & Development, India & Southwest Asia at Hyatt, adding that the signing reflects confidence in the city’s evolving hospitality landscape.
Kolkata is witnessing a similar uptick in hospitality demand, driven by rising corporate travel, infrastructure upgrades, and a steady flow of domestic tourists. Industry experts say parallel expansion in cities like Ahmedabad and Kolkata highlights Hyatt’s focus on both established and emerging urban markets, underlining sustained investor confidence in India’s hospitality sector.
