IBM boosts technology expertise in India to drive AI adoption

IBM (NYSE: IBM) has announced a significant expansion of its Technology Expert Labs in India, focusing on accelerating the adoption of cutting-edge technologies such as Generative AI, Data & AI, Automation, Sustainability, Security, and Infrastructure. Situated in Bengaluru and Kochi, these labs will serve as hubs for driving outcome-based engagements globally, assisting clients in harnessing the full potential of emerging technologies to stay competitive in today’s market.

The initiative comes at a time when businesses worldwide are increasingly turning to advanced technologies like AI to fuel innovation and efficiency. However, challenges such as limited AI skills and expertise have hindered successful adoption for many organizations. According to the Global AI Adoption Index 2023, conducted by Morning Consult on behalf of IBM, 33% of surveyed companies face obstacles due to skill shortages, while 22% struggle with the complexity of integrating and scaling AI projects.

Sanjay Pal, Vice President of IBM Technology Expert Labs, emphasized the critical role of expertise in driving successful technology integration, stating, “Businesses seek experts who can guide them through every stage of their transformation journey, ensuring successful project deployment.” Gaurav Sharma, Vice President of IBM India Labs and Ecosystem, highlighted the strategic advantage of co-locating with IBM Product Development teams, enabling the Technology Expert Labs to offer timely insights and solutions to clients and partners globally.
