IBM collaborates with MSDE to expand digital skills training in India

IBM and the Ministry of Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) have signed multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) to provide curated courses to India’s youth, empowering them with future-ready skills.

The collaboration will focus on the co-creation of curriculum and access to IBM’s learning platform IBM Skills Build, for skilling learners across school education, higher education, and vocational skills on emerging technologies like AI (including generative AI), cybersecurity, cloud computing and professional development skills. IBM is partnering with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and Technology to equip learners at school, higher education, and vocational levels with digital skills, aiming to create a skilled talent ecosystem in India.

IBM Skills Build aims to bridge the skills gap in the workforce by offering digital learning in emerging technologies like generative AI, cybersecurity, and workplace skills. Speaking at the event, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship said, “This collaboration marks a significant stride toward our vision of a ‘Skilled India’ and in scaling up digital skills training and skill building in emerging technologies using IBM Skills Build platform.”
