Recently troubling episodes of violence persist in Manipur as fresh clashes erupted on Monday evening, leading to the imposition of curfew in Thoubal and Imphal West districts. The incident unfolded in the Lilong area of Thoubal district, where an altercation between unidentified armed individuals and local residents escalated into gunfire. Actually three person sustained serious gunshot injuries in the clash, sparking outrage among the locals. In response to the increasing violence, the administration rescinded the earlier relaxed curfew measures. Right now Imphal valley and Bishnupur district are now under curfew to maintain public safety.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh addressed the situation through a video message, urging citizens to uphold peace and refrain from taking matters into their own hands. He also appealed for cooperation in ensuring strict action against those responsible for the unrest. Actually the appeal comes amidst heightened tensions and concerns about the security situation in the region.
