In the last 10 years, India is very close to meeting the target of mobile device production of Rs 20 lakh crore, surpassing the target of Rs 9.20 lakh crore in the current financial year 2024. India has come very close to achieving its target of mobile phone production worth Rs 20 lakh crore in the last 10 years. Not only that, the phone has crossed the export target of Rs 1.20 lakh crore in the current financial year (FY24). Exports have increased by 7500 percent in the last decade. In the last 10 years, i.e. from 2014 to 2024, the industry has set a target of producing mobile phones worth Tk 20 lakh crore. According to ICEA data, 1945-100 crore ended a decade of growing production of Rs 20 crore
In terms of volume, India has produced 245 billion units of mobile phones in the last decade. But the target was to manufacture 25 billion units. At the very end of the 2014-2024 decade, India has now become the world’s second largest manufacturer of Jupiter mobiles. 30 percent production will be done for export in FY24. 2014-1573 India exported mobile phones worth only 1556 crore rupees.
