India has reported a slight drop in daily coronavirus infections. According to Union Health Ministry data updated on Saturday, the country registered 2,995 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the active caseload above the 16,000-mark.
The number of people who have recovered from the disease has increased to 44171551, while the death rate has been recorded at 1.19 percent.
This comes after the country recorded 3,095 new coronavirus cases in a day.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Dr Arvind said, “Now that the tests have increased, so have the cases. But the good thing here is that the ones that are coming in are not more serious cases that can be detected. They are recovering at home”.
