India reports 2,109 fresh COVID cases

India recorded 2,109 new COVID-19 cases, while the number of active cases dropped from 22,742 to 21,406, according to union health ministry data on Wednesday. The number of Covid-19 cases now stands at 4.49 crore (4,49,74,909). The death toll rose to 5,31,722 with eight deaths, including kerala, updated at 8 am. At 21,406, active cases comprise 0.05 percent of total infections. The national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.77 per cent, the ministry said.
