“India’s G20 Presidency will play a crucial role in shaping an inclusive, future”: Sherpa Amitabh Kant

As, Mumbai gears up to host the 1st Development Working Group Meeting under the Sherpa track of India’s G20 Presidency from 13th -16th December 2022, India’s G20 Sherpa, Mr. Amitabh Kant held a press conference in the city before the event.

The first meeting of the Development Working Group (DWG) under India’s G20 Presidency is taking place in Mumbai from December 13-16, 2022. G20 Members, Guest countries and invited International Organizations would be attending the meeting in person.On December 13, 2022, the Indian Presidency will hold two side events – on “Data for Development: Role of G20 in advancing the 2030 Agenda” and “Infusing new LiFE into Green Development”.

The 18th G20 Leaders’ Summit under the India’s G20 Presidency that is scheduled to be held at New Delhi on 9-10th September 2023, calling it biggest conference to be held in India which would witness 43 world leaders, 9 special invitees and many international organizationsand over the course of the year India would hold 215 meetings spread across 56 cities in India. He underlined India’s priorities under its G20 Presidency that include Digital Public Infrastructure, Women-led Development, reforming Multilateral Institutions for 21st Century, addressing the 3Fs (Food, Fuel, Fertilizer) challenge, Accelerating progress on SDGs and Green Development.
