IndiGo expands Northeast connectivity with eight new flights for winter season

IndiGo has announced the launch of eight new flights this winter, aiming to boost accessibility across Northeast India. The new schedule introduces exclusive tri-weekly flights between Agartala and Dibrugarh starting October 29, 2024, alongside direct flights connecting Guwahati to Dimapur and Ahmedabad from December 10. Additionally, Kolkata-Bangkok services will see increased frequency, with flights operating four times weekly beginning November 24, 2024.

These new routes are designed to strengthen domestic connectivity, providing business and leisure travelers with convenient options across East and Northeast India. IndiGo’s Head of Global Sales, Vinay Malhotra, stated, “The demand surge has led us to expand these routes, enhancing regional connectivity and supporting economic growth, tourism, and cultural exchange.”

The new flights also hold potential, which serves as a trade hub for the Northeast region. Enhanced connectivity could facilitate smoother movement of goods and promote tourism, benefiting local businesses and creating new economic opportunities. The winter schedule will allow travelers to explore the cultural richness of destinations like Guwahati, Dimapur, and Agartala, with booking options available via IndiGo’s website and mobile app.
