Indigo flights status: Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad see 350+ flight cancellations

IndiGo’s ongoing meltdown continues to disrupt travel for lakhs of passengers, with large numbers stranded nationwide as cancellations mount. On Tuesday alone, more than 350 flights to and from major hubs — Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru — were cancelled. The latest figures for 9 December show:

Delhi: 152 cancellations (76 arrivals, 76 departures)
Bengaluru: 121 cancellations (58 arrivals, 63 departures)
Hyderabad: 58 cancellations (14 arrivals, 44 departures)
Mumbai: 31 cancellations (14 arrivals, 17 departures)

Chaos also persisted at airports such as Ahmedabad and Delhi, prompting Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinarapu to hold a high-level review meeting. Senior ministry officials were directed to conduct on-ground inspections at major airports across the country. Meanwhile, the DGCA summoned IndiGo’s top leadership, including CEO Pieter Elbers, for a meeting on 10 December and ordered the airline to revise its Winter Schedule 2025, cutting 5% of operations due to its failure to manage planned flights.

The government has launched an inquiry, asserting the crisis stems from IndiGo’s internal crew-planning shortcomings. In Parliament, the minister promised strict action and confirmed that fare caps — ranging from ₹7,500 to ₹18,000 — had been imposed after ticket prices surged.
