Infosys Foundation’s INR 2 crore Aarohan Awards to boost social innovation and economic growth

Infosys Foundation has launched the fourth edition of its Aarohan Social Innovation Awards, committing INR 2 crore to support technology-driven solutions in education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability. This strategic investment aims to empower social entrepreneurs and enterprises that can create scalable impact on underprivileged communities, thereby contributing to inclusive economic development.

Open for Indian citizens aged 18 and above, the awards invite submissions of fully functional prototypes or completed projects via video entries from April 24 to June 15, 2025. Winners can receive up to INR 50 lakh each, with selection criteria focused on addressing real social problems, solution scalability, and founder commitment. The initiative aligns with broader economic goals of fostering innovation-led growth and reducing socio-economic disparities.

The Aarohan Awards offer significant potential to invigorate the city’s vibrant social enterprise ecosystem. Kolkata’s strong base of NGOs, startups, and academic institutions positions it well to leverage this opportunity, attracting funding and driving innovation that supports sustainable urban development. The awards could stimulate job creation and enhance social infrastructure, reinforcing Kolkata’s role as a hub for socially impactful economic activity in Eastern India.
