Infrastructural development for Assam schools

On Sunday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma said that around 4,000 government institutes in the state would witness infrastructural improvements in the next five years.

Sarma said the state government has taken a massive step to improve the infrastructure of 1,000 high and higher secondary schools across the state.

Under the plan, infrastructural development will be done through appropriate interventions in educational institutions. He, however, added that if an educational institution has a building that is more than 100 years old, then the government will help preserve the building as a heritage building as per the plan.
As an experiment, the state government will take up 10 schools in and around Guwahati to develop their infrastructure.
