On Friday, a report was circulated of a person who happened to die due to food poisoning in Goalpara district, Assam.
Along with the death, 158 others fell ill which is also due to food poisoning in the same district.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Goalpara, Khanindra Choudhury submitted a report about the incident, that at least 158 persons were admitted to the hospital while one person died on Friday morning.
“We are investigating if the person died due to food poisoning or due to other reasons. Things will be clearer once we get the post-mortem report,” the official added.
As per investigation, the affected people had attended a feast followed by a religious event organized in Mariampur village bordering Meghalaya.
After the feast, the people started to feel unwell. Further, officials are investigation the matter but no confirm report is submitted yet.
