IOCL donates school bus to Ephatha Special School in Mizoram

Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on February 28 handed over a 24-seater TATA school bus to Ephatha Special School for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL). The handover ceremony took place at the Chief Minister’s office yard. Addressing the event, Lalduhoma lauded IOCL’s contributions to Mizoram, noting that it is one of the state’s highest taxpayers, contributing approximately ₹170 crore annually. He also appreciated IOCL’s support during the COVID-19 pandemic, which included the donation of 21 dialysis machines and essential medical supplies.

The Chief Minister further mentioned that IOCL is expanding its bottling plant in Mualkhang, a project backed by the state government. Additionally, he announced that the government is considering two locations for a new oil depot to enhance fuel storage capacity in Mizoram. Ephatha Society President Saihmingthangi expressed gratitude to IOCL and the Chief Minister, highlighting the positive impact of the bus donation in ensuring better transportation for students.

As part of the initiative, the Chief Minister’s office will cover the registration cost, while the insurance will be handled by Zothantluanga, a TATA dealer. The event was attended by senior IOCL officials, including Z. Lhungdim (DGM, LPG-Engineering & State Level Coordinator for Mizoram), Kuldip Sarma (Senior Manager, Retail Sales), and Malati Malakar (Senior Manager, HR-CSR), alongside members of the Ephatha Society, school staff, students, and government officials.
