Itanagar Police crack temple theft case, 1 arrested

The Itanagar Capital Police arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with the theft at the Yangda Yurchum Shiv Mandir and successfully recovered the stolen items. The suspect, Bem Abraham of 6 Kilo, Itanagar, was apprehended following an investigation led by ASI Tatung Tari and his team.

The theft, reported by Lokam Nai on September 29, involved the stealing of a DG set battery and a water pump motor on September 18. The thief had also attempted but failed to break into the temple’s donation box.

Using human intelligence, the police traced Abraham, who confessed to the crime during interrogation. The stolen items were promptly recovered, and the accused has been placed in judicial custody as further investigations continue.
