The Korean Cultural Centre India (KCCI) and LG Electronics are organizing All India KPOP Contest 2023 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Korea and India. The online qualifiers round was held from April 26th to May 13th, with 11,071 teams participating from Pan India. The selected participants from the online preliminaries will participate in the regional round to be held at 11 cities.
Itanagar held the regional round at DorjeeKhandu State, Convention hall from 12:00 – 03:00pm.18 teams participated including both from dance and vocal category which gave a tough competition and were cheered by k-fans present at the venue.
The K-Pop Academy competition will start from Kolkata and go to Hyderabad, Kohima, Bhopal, Bengaluru, Guwahati, Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi and Lucknow. Each winner in the song and dance category will participate in the semi-finals, where 10 winners will receive singing and dance training from experts. The final winner will receive a visit to Korea as a prize. Jeon Hong-Ju, M.D. of LG Electronics India said, “We are delighted that more than 10,000 teams has sent their submissions & numerous people have shown interest.”
