Kevadia organized  3rd G20 Trade and Investment working group Meeting

India’s G20 Presidency is hosting the 3rd Trade and Investment Working Group (TIWG) in Kevadia, Gujarat from July 10-12. The meeting focuses on action-oriented proposals and key deliverables on global trade and investment issues, with over 75 delegates from member states, invited countries, and international organizations participating.

G20 members and invitees provided suggestions and comments on India’s proposals during technical sessions. These will be incorporated into the Ministerial communique for the upcoming Trade and Investment Ministerial meeting in Jaipur on August 24-25, 2023. The G20 meeting focused on five priority areas: trade for growth, ease of doing business, global value chains, integrating MSMEs, and logistics for trade and WTO reforms. India’s G20 Presidency prepared concrete proposals to build consensus among member states.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has prepared a working agenda for the G20 meeting, focusing on action-oriented solutions for the Global South. The outcome will help build a shared understanding of challenges in accelerating global trade and investment, and develop pathways for inclusive and transparent growth.G20 delegates visited the Statue of Unity and Sardar Sarovar dam in Kevadia, enjoying a cultural program to explore Gujarat’s rich culture and heritage.
