Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Sunday metNimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya, Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, who is currently on a visit to Mizoram, at his official residence in Aizawl. The Chief Minister welcomed the Union Minister to Mizoram and conveyed his best wishes for a pleasant stay in the state. During the meeting, he raised four important matters concerning Mizoram. The CM requested for enhanced allocation of rice under the Open Market Sales Scheme (OMSS) and sought permission to procure rice through Bharat Rice in cases where procurement under OMSS is not feasible. He also requested the Union Minister for enhancement of Mizoram’s rice allocation quota under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). Furthermore, Lalduhoma also requested her to sanction fund from Central Sector Scheme of ‘Storage & Godown’ for the construction of three godowns in Mizoram. The Union Minister assured the Chief Minister that the matters raised would be duly pursued. She also expressed her appreciation for the scenic beauty and hospitality of Mizoram. The Chief Minister was accompanied by B. Lalchhanzova and senior officials from FCS & CA department.
