The Khulazu Basa Students’ Union (KBSU) held its 68th general session and cultural day at Government Primary School-A in Khulazu Basa Village, Phek district, with the subject “Krütsazho thikeyhepü dorhükevelü sükeyi.” Satahi Shüjo, the finance secretary of Chakhesang Public Organization and a retired assistant director of the Social Welfare Department, stressed the value of maintaining cultural heritage and customs during the event.
In order to conserve customs for future generations, he underlined the value of recording them and promoted the recording of folk music, tales, and crafts. Because these customs were in danger of vanishing, he urged the elders to educate the younger generation folk music and how to dress traditionally. KBSU President Kuzoto Keyho, KBSUK President Nühüta Tetseo, Senior Citizen Chairman Khulazu Basa Zühücho Rhakho, and Village Council Acting Chairman Züvehü Rhakho also spoke at the event earlier.
Together with the “Best” parents and teachers, a number of people were recognized for their accomplishments in a variety of professions. The Nerenyü Ngolüyi Kezo award was given to Rakhoyi Rhakho and Khrusalu Rhakho for their exceptional academic achievement in 2024. Additionally, within the SDEO Chozuba circle, Anuvelu Yhosa from GPS A Khulazu Basa received recognition for placing in the top 8 on the class 5 board exam. Indigenous games were also played, such as tug of war, war cry, fire making, and the ancient Naga dice game.
