A man was arrested here for allegedly raping a hearing-and-speech-impaired woman in a moving car, a police officer said on Friday.Kamre Alam alias Raja, a resident of Panchannagram, was arrested for allegedly being involved in the incident.
She was kidnapped from the city’s Pragati Maidan area late on Tuesday by the accused, who then raped her, according to the police complaint.
Commenting further on the case, a police source said that the woman knew the accused from work. It was on January 27 when the accused stopped the woman outside the station when she was returning home. He later managed to convince her to follow him and later, he forcibly pulled her into a car and allegedly sexually assaulted her. Meanwhile, it is being ascertained that the rape took place inside a moving car and the accused even asked the woman to hand over the money. The accused later dumped her at a secluded spot near a Bypass connector. Meanwhile, the victim somehow managed to reach her friend’s place who later took her to the cops to lodge a complaint in this regard, as per the Times of India report.
In order to dig in more information, the cops took the help of technical intelligence and managed to nab the accused. Elaborating further on the shocking episode, joint CP (crime) Murlidhar Sharma said. “The accused was produced in court on Friday and sent to police custody,” as per the report published in the TOI.
